To start your fishing trip you will probably be arriving by air into Anchorage and then driving to Ninilchik. This is a beautiful 180 mile drive south of Anchorage along the Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet (named after Cpt. Cook who discovered it); or you can fly from Anchorage into the fairly nearby towns of Homer or Kenai and rent a car for the short drive along scenic Cook Inlet to Ninilchik. There you will find our real Alaskan cabins with most modern conveniences. Centrally located on the Kenai Peninsula, the Ninilchick area is one of the most photographed places on the Kenai Peninsula.

Directions: If driving from Anchorage or Kenai/Soldotna to Ninilchik, proceed to the Tesoro Gas Station in Ninilchik and make a left on Oil Well Road. Proceed approximately 2 miles and make a right on Holly Road. Then after proceeding only about 300 yards, make a right on Lingonberry Rd. You will see our sign on the left after proceeding approximately 1 mile.

Trout, salmon and halibut fishing are readily available near our campground and cabins. Three main fishing areas exist -Cook Inlet, Ninilchik River and Deep Creek - all of which provide a fisherman's delight. Tasty clams are abundant in the area and may be taken on the beaches during the seasonal low tides. We can arrange for you almost any kind of fishing adventure that you're looking for. We have fish processing facilities available at the campground. See our link to more fishing information.

Ninilchik Village, whose name means "peaceful settlement by a river", is located on the west side of the Kenai Peninsula, about 40 miles south of Soldotna. It was settled in the early 1800's by Russian colonists. They subsided on fishing, hunting, trapping and gardening. When Alaska was sold to the United States, many of these settlers decided to stay on. Some of the old buildings still exist in the Ninilchik village and many descendants of the old families still live here. Today, Ninilchik has become a popular staging area for world class salmon and halibut fishing. Mt. Iliamna and Mt. Redoubt, both active volcanoes, greet visitors to the area. While staying at our campground, be sure to see the experience the historical Ninilchik Village and the Russian Orthodox Church.
